Toner D'Oudaires wins Down Royal opener

Fri 5th Nov 2010, 13:36

The opening Eventsec 3yo Miaden Hurdle at Down Royal today went to the Gordon Elliott trained Toner D'Oudaires, under Davy Russell.

Carrying the Gigginstown House Stud colours, the French bred gelding eventually recorded an impressive six lengths win over Ember Jack

Elliott was absent but was represented by Bobby McNally who stated "Toner D'Oudaires got a fright at the first hurdle at Thurles the last day but loves that ground. He has been well schooled since and may go for a Grade 3 hurdle at Fairyhouse in a few weeks time."

Toner D'Oudaires subsequently received an introductary quote of 33/1 with Stan James for the Triumph Hurdle.
