The Tack Room recorded his first career success, as he just got the better of hat-trick seeking Sweet Will in the Follow Fairyhouse On Social Media Handicap Chase.

An encouraging fourth on his handicap debut at Limerick last month, the John Kiely trained nine-year-old came in for plenty of market support this afternoon, going off a 3/1 chance having touched 15/2 in early shows.

Settled behind the leaders by Simon Torrens, the son of Milan lost some ground when slow over the fourth last, but took much closer order from the next.

He gained a narrow lead before the second last and had to be ridden out on the run-in to see off Sweet Will by three-parts of a length.

The front pair went 12 lengths clear of Difficult Decision (9/2) in third, while Kali's Quest fell two out when still in with every chance.

Kiely, who was recording his first winner since June, said: "It's nice to be back in the winners' enclosure, it's been a while.

"He delivered anyway, he was a bit unlucky in Limerick. He would have gone close there, whether or not he'd have won I don't know. The mistake did take a bit out of him.

"Hopefully he can collect another one."

STEWARDS REPORTS

Owing to the low trajectory of the sun, the Raceday Stewards granted permission for fence number five to be omitted from this race.

C.P. McNamara, rider of Mont Saint Vincent (FR), trained by E. McNamara, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount pulled up injured.
