Munfallet rolled back the years to land the concluding View Restaurant At Dundalk Stadium Handicap (division 2) for the father and son team of Denis and Ross Coakley.

The 11-year-old son of Royal Applause was recording a tenth career win and a fourth for the Coakley family at odds of 14/1. Limit Long set a strong pace in this extended ten-furlong event but dropped away quickly early in the straight as Munfallet made good progress to lead a furlong and a half from home.

The veteran gelding kept on well to beat Final Fantasy by a length with French Company putting in some good late work a further length and a half back in third.

Ross Coakley was making a flying visit back from the UK and continuing a good week after winners in recent days at both Wolverhampton and Lingfield.

Denis Coakley said, “That was brilliant. Ross was riding him when he was home on a holiday, he took me off him. He was riding him out every morning with our other horse and he actually revitalised him.

“Normally he rides out on his own and having company revitalised him. We knew he was in great form and the question was whether he would see out the trip.

“After Ross getting a winner on Monday and Tuesday the pressure was on me!

“That's the horse's tenth win and he's won from over six furlongs to nearly a mile-and-three so he's been brilliant.

“It's a pity his joint-owner Arthur Connick didn't come today because of everything at the moment but it was great. He is owned by Ross's two grandfathers, his mother and a friend.”
