There was a notable difference in the sizes of the leading protagonists at the business end, and it was the smaller Vita Veritas that toughed it out best to bring up a double for John Murphy in the concluding Killarney Handicap at the County Kerry venue.

Murphy always has his team well readied for the action at this course, and after Fearless Girl rsquo;s win earlier with Joey Sheridan up, Vita Veritas completed the 24/1 brace in the hands of Robbie Colgan.

The more imposing Day Dreamin’ threatened big danger in the closing stages.

However Vita Veritas was determined to shed her maiden tag at the eleventh time of asking, which she did by half a length.

It was a commendable effort on the part of the victorious Camelot four-year-old, reappearing quickly after finishing second at Cork on Sunday.

"That is her ideal trip and ground and she has had two quick runs now so will have a little break,” said George Murphy, representing his father.

"The owner (Mairead O’Keeffe) is a breeder and will probably end up breeding her and it was nice to get the win."

S. Foley, rider of Ally Cay trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran short of room at the furlong pole.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Arcland trained by H.Rogers, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was interfered with in the final furlong.

L.F. Roche, rider of Der Mc trained by P.A.Fahy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left and right in the straight.

A.J. Slattery, rider of Indian Eye (GB) trained by Jarlath P.Fahey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount leaned right all the way up the straight.

The Stewards looked at two incidents in the straight where Ally Cay, ridden by S. Foley, appeared to check and Arcland, ridden by C.D. Hayes, appeared to check. Having viewed the recording of the race the Stewards decided that no further action was warranted.
