Wingin A Prayer came out on top in the Bluegrass Maiden Hurdle at Down Royal for Jessica Harrington and Robbie Power. Double Jemmy (travelled well, but no extra in second when slight mistake last) was the one to give the well-backed 100/30 victor most to do, but he had to give best by eight lengths, with favourite Now Where Or When nine lengths back in third.

"We are very pleased with that," said Mrs Harrington's daughter Kate.

"He was disappointing the last day and Robert (Power) said he never faced into the wind the last day.

"Today he got back onto that soft ground and loved it and was a different horse today for whatever reason.

"I don't know where we will go next with everything that is going on!

"He is going to be a lovely horse going over a fence next season as well."

And on the current situation, she commented: "Hopefully the show keeps going on."

Mr N. Gault, rider of The Miser trained by W J Bryson, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung violently right from the fourth last.

C.D. Maxwell, rider of Basrah Breeze trained by E. D. Delany, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left from five furlongs out.
