Free-going Yulong Voice got off the mark at the tenth attempt over hurdles at Killarney, landing the

Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle (div II) for trainer Shane Nolan and jockey Mike O'Connor.

A juvenile flat maiden winner for leading flat owner Zhang Yuesheng and trainer Jessica Harrington in August 2019, the four year old today scored by three and a quarter lengths from Elite Des Mottes

Afterwards Nolan said “he was doing things all wrong, was too keen and then we were dropping him back in trip but ideally he wants 2m4f.

“Ian McCarthy (recently retired jockey turned pre-trainer) has done all the work with him and has done a great job. He was very free, especially in the three year old hurdles and Ian has been working away teaching him to settle and Mikey gave him a great ride today.

“He is only a four year old, there should be more improvement in him and was still a bit free for the first couple of furlongs. When he learns to do things right there might even be another day in him on the flat.

“He might go to Bellewstown on Wednesday, we'll see how he is but there is no mad panic as I couldn't see him getting much more than his penalty.”
