< Blue Bunting avenged her Epsom Oaks defeat with a last-gasp success in the Darley-sponsored Irish version at the Curragh.

The Newmarket Guineas heroine was only fourth behind the reopposing Dancing Rain and Wonder Of Wonders on her first try at a mile and a half, and looked booked for a minor role at best again when Banimpire Wonder Of Wonders and Laughing Lashes locked horns in the final furlong.

Niall McCullagh was allowed an uncontested lead on the 7-1 shot, so had plenty in reserve when the challengers came, with Kirinda getting closest at the line after flying down the outside.

There was a valuable pot up for grabs in the Brady's Mercedes Benz Rockingham Handicap, and it goes back to Malcom Saunders' Somerset stable after Captain Carey held off the late thrust of Cheviot

Martha Pisarek brought Paramount (20-1) with a well-timed challenge to land the Thalgo Ladies Derby Handicap for Ted Walsh, while the Fleetwood Paints Handicap went the way of the Dermot Weld-trained Late Day Sun
