The mares’ maiden hurdle was an attritional contest on the testing ground and it was Brampton Belle (10s to 16/1 before the off) who saw out the trip best. Angels Dawn looked to be travelling best in front heading out on the final circuit but she came under pressure going to two out where a mistake ended her chance. The always-prominent winner went on before the last to account for Mi Lighthouse by two and three quarter lengths.

There was a plunge on Agritime from 14/1 into 11/4 favourite but the hurdling debutant jumped poorly and was pulled up before three out as only five of the fourteen runners completed the course.

The winner had finished fifth on her only previous start at Tipperary in May and, after Guily Billy in the opener, was completing doubles for Henry de Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore.

The latter commented: “That was a great performance and she galloped all the way to the line.

“She was quite keen the last day but she settled better today. She was a little bit green in front at times but you would expect that.”
