I was a little concerned the ground was after getting a bit too slow. You couldn't get it quick enough for him. It was nice to win another one with him. We'll look for a flat handicap at Galway or a handicap hurdle on the Saturday there, but he is ground dependant. He's a real summer horse.

I had my first handicap winner in this race twenty years ago with Nordic Thorn and he was ridden by the late Anthony Powell. This fellow ran in this last year when it was over two miles and only for they put it up to three miles he wouldn't have been running in it this year. He floats on that ground and that is the key to him. He could go for the two mile five furlong handicap at Galway on the Saturday and we may try to find a flat race in between.

Ruby was very good on him and he makes the difference. he wants it even quicker and I'd have preferred if they hadn't watered! He'll keep on the go as long as we have decent ground; I've him entered in the Cesarewitch and we'll see how he comes out of this before making plans.
Martin Brassil
Mr & Mrs Quinn (part owners) drove five hours from Tyrone to get here and they won't even stay over. This will make the journey home a bit shorter. If they hadn't travelled I wouldn't have run him as I thought the ground had gone for him. I told Fran to keep him wide and if others dropped back that he would get a bit of encouragement and he did. We'll find a little handicap hurdle for him now over two and a half somewhere.
Martin Brassil
He had form around here, winning a hurdle under my son Conor in October. The ground is the key with him and when I saw the dry ground here I said we'd come back. Fran gave him a fantasic ride. He's riding out of his skin at the moment,. so

I was lucky to get him off Dermot Kelly who gave up training. It''s great for Conor (18yo) to have his first winner. He is based with Dessie Hughes. His older brother, David, won on his first ride in France there recently, in a mile and a half race on the level for Francois Cottin.
