He won well and 'Puppy' said he loves that ground,. They went a good gallop and that suited him. I think he's going to go for the Drinmore now after that. He jumped well and did everything well. He had a fitness advantage there on a few of them. Puppy was happy and said he travelled well.
Gordon Elliott
Jack was very impressed with him and said he jumped brilliant. He said he'd come on from it and could even go further,. He still qualified for the likes of the four-mile chase at Cheltenham and they will be the races he'll be going for. Flawless Escape galloped off okay. He was going to win well anyway. Obviously he could go for the Drinmore but we'll mind him anyway. Obviously he's had his few injuries and he might even go straight for that. He didn't do anything wrong last year. The plan was to go to the four-mile chase and he pulled a muscle, and we just couldn't get there, so we just decided to pull the plug on him for the year.
Gordon Elliott
Camilla (Sharples, leading up) said here that he'd win and she was right. Gordon prepped him really well. He was a good winner at the Cheltenham festival and he's stepped up to Grade 1 company and done it well. He's a fantastic horse to win a Grade 1 and win at the Cheltenham festival — it's great placing by Gordon. I'm surprised he won but he's a nice horse and he's going to be a nice chaser. He keeps trying and he seems to like that better ground.
Gordon Elliott
I was lucky the ride came up and I put a call in and got it, but then I got offered another ride and Gordon wouldn't let me off him. He travelled everywhere, jumped every hurdle and was a winner all the way really. Gordon's had an unbelievable week and it's a privilege to ride for him. It's been an amazing week. To beat Willie, with the strength he has - and he's an amazing trainer - is brilliant. It's a credit to the staff and the owners, I'm part of a team so we'll enjoy it. Coming over I was hoping for one and we won the first race with Labaik so everything else has been a bonus. It's unbelievable, we had three winners Tuesday and had a bit of a drink, too much so we haven't touched a drop since. When we get home next week we'll have a staff party. Apple's Jade winning was sweet, Cause Of Causes was special but winning the Martin Pipe race is great.
Gordon Elliott
It wasn't the strongest race in the world, and Jack said he was happy with him the whole way. We'll keep it small with him. He's a horse to jump a fence next season, and we'll aim for a winners' of one race next. He's a grand horse who will win his races.
Gordon Elliott
he’s a big galloping horse and stayed well. I was surprised he was beaten at Galway but he was very green and babyish and was more of a man today. He will go over hurdles now.
Gordon Elliott
