He's a fine big horse who wants fast ground and a very good gallop. We'll look at Naas next week with him and while he needs to go up a few pounds to get into the race, I'd like him to run in the Victoria Cup (May 9th at Ascot).
David Marnane
He was a little bit unlucky the last day. He's been running well all year and he's improving. He's still a big clueless baby. He seemed to be better when he got out wide and got a clear run away from other horses. We'll see what the handicapper does and we'll look at the Cambridgeshire.
David Marnane
The blinkers obviously did the trick. He won at Dundalk and I thought he would go on from there. He ran in an apprentice race the last day where there was no sticks and no headgear and that probably didn't suit.
David Marnane
I worked with trainer Tommy Stack for 13 years and have my restricted trainers' license for the past three years. I've had a point to point winner before but this is my first on the racecourse. I break young horses and my operation is a real family one - my brother and father are involved and my wife Geraldine owns Hi Emperor. Hi Emperor is a big backward horse and hopefully will improve again from that. He's still a big baby and is very green. His run before this suggested he was entitled to win as the form has worked out very well. Seven furlongs is probably his trip but he has plenty of boot and we'll not be afraid to drop him back. I was hoping the ground would not be too firm and the rain came at the right time.
