I thought have the stands were going to have a heart attack and it was the most exciting finish I've seen in a long long time!. And for a minute I thought I lost my jockey before the post — I was going to kill him, but luckily he hung on! I think the saddle slipped sideways and he lost his balance. if ever a mare deserved to win, it was her as she tried her heart out and the little drop of rain helped her too. She may go to Galway on the Sunday for a conditions' chase next and we'll see how she comes out of this. Cathal loses his 7lbs claim today and can only take 5lbs off from now on, which is a tragedy!
Michael J Bowe
she is as tough as they come and is a dinger; we had her dam and she was a dinger too. She isn't in love with that ground as she is a summer mare and being by High Chapparal, she will be a valuable mare to go to the paddocks later on.
Michael J Bowe
She was always the bridesmaid and never the bride. It was long overdue, and it was just a case of finding a race for her and we found it today. She enjoyed herself out there today. She is a clean, quick and efficient jumper. She is in winners company now so life might bit a little bit more difficult for her now. She has enough scope to jump a fence as well, but she will stay over hurdles for the present. She just about got away with the ground, she likes a cut in it. She wasn't letting herself down fully on it. I won't be going to Cheltenham with her anyway! We'll get today over first and we'll plan after that. Cathal gave her a great ride. He is a super chap and great value for seven pounds. He deserves a lot of credit and has been a terrific help to me. Only for him I couldn't manage. He is a lad that deserves every opportunity he gets. I'm as delighted for him as I am for myself.!
Michael J Bowe
