Kilganer Queen rules in Limerick
Kilganer Queen landed a few bets in Limerick as she relished the task set in the three mile handicap hurdle. Sun 21st May
She ran well in Tipperary on her first run for us and we knew she had come on a lot from it. It was great to get Rachael to ride her as she’d won on her a few times before. It’s nice to get a winner here as I’m originally a local and it’s my birthday today as well (64).

I'm delighted for Johnny. He actually got me my first winner a couple of years ago, and I rent my yard from Johnny's father Liam. They are a great family and have been such a help to me ever since I started training. Johnny gave her a super ride, because she wasn't really ever travelling. She probably does want further and the track probably didn't suit her. It's great that it worked out in the end. She has won five for me now and has also won a point-to-point. She has black-type and she is brilliant. She has a great owner (Michael Mee) who is very supportive of me. If there was something in Galway for her we would like to go there. She is a little bit claustrophobic so I'm not sure whether it would suit her. Like any good woman, she likes her own space!. We'll pick something out for her in two or three weeks time. She is actually a pleasure to have and we bought her relatively cheap after she won her point-to-point.

That was a little bit unexpected as I thought she might need the run and was a small bit concerned over the ground as it was gluey. She is a fantastic mare and is a pleasure to have. We have already got black-type with her and whatever she did over hurdles was going to be a bonus. Michael (Mee, owner) has four horses with me and is a great man to me. Rachael is also fantastic and has been a huge asset to me. She might go to Punchestown next.
Miss Denise Marie O'Shea
That was brilliant and to be fair to Brian Hayes he gave her an absolutely fantastic ride. He has ridden a couple of times for me and he is a very under-rated jockey,. She is not easy and you have to tip away with her and not every jockey can do it and to be fair to Rachael (Blackmore, winning jockey previously) and Brian they are the winning of her. I said before Sligo she would go chasing but I spotted this race and said we'd lob her in! She could go chasing now though and I can't wait to get her chasing.
Miss Denise Marie O'Shea
She is a lovely mare and we bought her after she won her point-to-point in Kilfeacle and was always a nice, nice mare. Donie McInerney rode her the last day and gave her a lovely ride and I'm very lucky to have Rachael (Blackmore) on my horses. We'll see what the handicapper does but she'll turn out soon enough and won't spend too much time over hurdles as she is a natural chaser.
Miss Denise Marie O'Shea
