I’m thrilled, and the horse deserved that more than anything. He’d run some fabulous races in defeat and the experience Tiernan got from riding him here the last day stood us in good stead for today. He just got there too soon the last day and it’s a very long straight. He gave him a super ride today. Even though we are doing well in the William Hill Series that is our first winner in it so it’s nice to get that. The prizemoney in the series is great for the yard, the stablestaff, the jockey and most of all for the trainer! The poor old trainer never gets a bob!. It’s a great incentive for everybody and fantastic that William Hill have got behind it. There are so many new initiatives being brought forward and the trainers association had a part to play in the William Hill Series. I really think we need to distribute prizemoney a bit better and some of the money from the higher tier races could be filtered down to the lower tier races to encourage people that a horse can pay his way through the year.
