I was giving out to myself watching him going around that I didn't put cheekpieces on him today,. I thought he wasn't grabbing the bridle for Phillip but he said every time he saw a fence he went down to it. After that run I'll have to run him again somewhere. Everyday you go racing with the likes of him you are saying that this is probably his last run. I said to Phillip going out today that I'd be happy if he was placed. He's a very consistent horse, that's his sixth win and he's been placed 10 times. He's a good genuine horse and he keeps covering the diesel money!

It's always nice to win one. He was probably due a chase at some stage, he's let us down a few days. He always jumps well and seems to like it around here. He had a good run the last day and he won his first handicap around here very well. He got a decent hike after that and it probably curtailed him for a while. He's probably as high now as you'd want him in the handicap for what he is. There are a few of those races around and I wouldn't mind going to two-six or two-seven him with him on nice ground. Chris (Timmons) was saying the ground was a bit tacky today and it wouldn't have helped his jumping. Normally he's a great jumper and I've seen him jump better than he did today. Hopefully we might get another one with him somewhere along the line.
Edward Cawley
I said to Brian going out if nobody else is going on then take a chance on it. We’ve been holding him up so many days and he just doesn’t see it out. We were lucky the loose horse came up and joined him. He would have pulled up big time if he hadn’t been there. Brian said he stayed on with the loose horse and it really did him a favour.
Edward Cawley
We were hoping for better ground and his best runs so far had been on better ground. He’s run over three miles and stays this trip well. He’s an experienced horse and a good jumper with all his chasing experience. Chris gave him a confident ride and got him switched off out the back. He pulled him out on a bit of fresh ground around Ballyhack and he just took off.
Edward Cawley
He's never run that well over that trip. We've tried him a good few times over hurdles over two-and-a-half. The last day he ran very well and we were happy with him coming out of Tipperary. I thought that run was nearly good enough to win. I didn't know if he would handle this track as every time we ran him on a good track everyone said don't go to a tighter track with him. All of them were wrong!. You don't know if you don't try. The race sort of fell his way. He stayed on well. He won a three-mile hurdle in Punchestown and that's a good staying track. I'd say there is a race or two in him. We'll look for something similar and I haven't even looked beyond today. I said if he didn't run well today I'd give him a break. I kept him during the summer hoping he'd pick up a couple of races. I'm happy enough with him there. I'll mix him between hurdles and fences.
Edward Cawley
