To be honest I wasn't going to run her as I got a text this morning saying the ground was heavy. Then when we finished riding out I saw there were six horses taken out of the race, so we said we'd let her take her chance. I got another text to say it was soft before we left home. It wasn't a great contest but she deserved to win it, and it's good to see her back to her best. She disappointed me a bit at Sligo but probably needed that run.

She's improved from Roscommon and we picked out this race because there is always an ease in the ground here,. The soft ground and stiffer track made a difference with dropping her back in trip. Seamie gave her an excellent ride and filled her up on the bend. She'll go to Galway for another handicap and then might have a break before going hurdling.

Ben got off her the last day and said she wants a bit of juice in the ground and further. So I was delighted to see the rain this morning and it made all the difference. She is a nice big mare and she will go back to jumping hurdles and maybe even a fence in time. She is my first winner on the flat and she is the only one I have for the flat. Unfortunately I'm too heavy to ride her myself!
