Sadler's Risk made an impressive winning debut over fences in the Follow Us On Facebook Beginners Chase at Roscommon on Monday eveningMon 19th May
I thought the mistakes he made would cost him and while he was cantering coming down the hill, he made another mistake at the second last but winged the last. His run in the Galway Plate was a great run (third) and the key is to keep him freshened up so we backed off him after Galway and pin-pointed this with him. Andrew gave him a super ride but you deserve it when you work as he does and it's also my first win in the race. He's got a lot of class and these are tough races so my gut feeling is to give him a break but I'll speak to Roger (Brookhouse) before making plans. His runs at Cheltenham are shocking and he really only goes right-handed. I think he's done enough this side of Christmas.
Henry De Bromhead
He was good and we're delighted with him. He jumped really well and looked to really enjoy himself. Hopefully that's his game. I think we'll leave him off now but we'll speak to Roger and see. We'll bring him back for the autumn then when there's plenty of nice races for him.
Henry De Bromhead
