Sho Girl proves to be a Listowel star
Sho Girl may have been 25/1, but she relished the heavy ground in Co Kerry with a decisive three and three quarter length victory in the Friends Of Tony Wright Memorial Handicap over a mile and six. Thu 19th Sep

Sho Girl too hot for Roscommon rivals
There were several fancied for the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden at Roscommon including Coco Bella (14/1 this morning into 9/2) and Hidden Lite (16/1 earlier into 8/1). However it was favourite backers that were smiling after the extended mile three furlong contest as Sho Girl (3s into 5/2 on track) prevailed. Mon 20th May
I'm very very pleased with her as she lost her way a bit. She won an ordinary maiden on dirty ground at Roscommon, but I think yielding is even too quick for her. She wants it up to her garters. I took a chance with the mile and six. I wasn't sure she would get the trip, but Declan was and he gave her a very confident ride. She's entered at Tipperary over a mile and a half, but will only run if it rains and it would have to be heavy.

She'd want to win from her Navan run as the winner (Just Pretending) went on to win a Group 3 (the Guineas Trial). I was worried about her getting home on that ground because on pedigree it was doubtful she'd stay. It was a mare's four-year-old maiden though and we had to take a chance.
