The Phoenix Sprint Stakes produced a thrilling finish with Snaefell holding the late charge of Georgebernardshaw in a bunch finish. Sun 17th Aug
He is a wonderful servant to have in the yard, he just loves it around the Curragh. Pat Smullen rode him the last day and suggested we put a pair on blinkers on him as he was beginning to idle a bit. I'm thrilled for Shane [Foley], I'm so lucky to have such two good hard working lads as Shane and Gary Carroll riding for me.

He deserved his day, he has been a great servant to us all year. The pace of the race really suited him today. There is not a lot left for him pattern wise, there is the Joe McGrath Handicap here in few weeks time. We will see how he comes out of the race, it would be a very big ask of him.

Snaefell has been a wonderful servant for us and that should do his confidence good following a sluggish run the last day.

The ground was a big factor. He deserved that and I'm delighted for Lady Clague, who has been great to us,. It's also nice for Rory to get the ride. Johnny (Murtagh) has done particularly well on the horse but it's nice for Rory to get the chance. He'll go for the Flying Five (Curragh August 31st). I was a bit concerned about the turn here today as he's always on a straight. He's a genuine Group 3 horse is these conditions.
