Snap takes opener at Ballinrobe
The opening race this evening at Ballinrobe the Tipperary Water Median Auction Maiden was won by the Joanna Morgan trained Snap Alam in the hands of Pat Smullen. Mon 31st May
Super Say is a very good horse. He is a big horse and I thought he might have needed the run today (his first for 202 days). I was hoping his class would carry him through. He could go for the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot and big handicaps like that are the target for him.
A Oliver
I gave him a bit of a break since his last run. He's a very big horse and I was concerned he would need the run. Ben gave him a great ride. There's a mile handicap here next week he might go for. I will also look at the all-weather at Dundalk. He's an improving horse and we haven't got to the bottom of him yet.
A Oliver
He had a great run at the Curragh first time but was unlucky at Ballinrobe last time (when slipping in the back straight),. He's a very big horse and I'm delighted he's got the job done here. The idea was to get him ready for a handicap at the Curragh on Derby weekend. He's versatile trip wise.
A Oliver
