He was unlucky, he fell at the first in Navan and he had a loose school around and jumped every hurdle perfect. That boy gave him a cracking ride - if you have him in behind horses, he will dive at them (hurdles), so he had him out and he measured everything. He jumped great. He had been off before Navan with minor problems, and he needs soft/heavy ground anyway. He has (plenty of back form), he was second a couple of times and he fell at Naas at the last when he might have won. I'd say he would come on from that.

After race at Sligo Tue, 11th Jun, 2024 (1st)
I'm great pals with Billy Boyers (92) who's here today and he blessed the saddle for me before the race!. Carl gave him a very polished ride and got some lovely jumps out of him which had maybe cost him a couple of races at Naas. The only worry was that the ground had dried so much because he's definitely a better horse on soft or even heavy ground, but there was enough of an ease for him. He deserved to get his head in front and I'm delighted for (owners) Phil Dillon and his wife Bridget.
