On The Fringe bids to land the Star Best For Racing Coverage Champion Hunters Chase for an incredible sixth time at Punchestown on Friday.

The Enda Bolger-trained gelding has dominated this division in recent years completing the Cheltenham, Aintree and Punchestown treble for the last two years.

The 12-year-old made a promising return this term when runner-up at Leopardstown but things have not gone to plan at the big Festival meetings.

He kept on well in the closing stages when fourth to Pacha Du Polder at Cheltenham but was ultimately pulled up by Jamie Codd at Aintree after an early mistake at The Chair.

Codd is looking forward to a much improved effort saying: "Aintree was just an off-day and I'm hoping the horse can put in a performance again and show everyone what he is.

"He stood too far off the Chair in Aintree and we lost momentum. The race was over from there and I pulled him up before he got tired.

"He's a brilliant horse and has been a brilliant horse over the years. It would be great for him to get back to Punchestown and get it done.

"It's definitely in him. He's been an incredible horse."

Balnaslow looks sure to go well after solid efforts at Cheltenham and Aintree, while Minella For Value and Maple Mons are others to consider.

The Jessica Harrington yard is in irresistible form at present, and she could land another valuable prize in the EMS Copiers Novice Handicap Chase with Woodland Opera.

The seven-year-old gelding has always been held in good regard by connections, and should appreciate this step up to two-miles-five-furlongs.

The Moone trainer also has a strong hand in the Hanlon Concrete EBF Glencarrig Lady Mares Handicap Chase, where Keppols Queen and Girly Girl both renew rivalry with Slowmotion after the trio filled the first three places in a Grade Three at Fairyhouse.

Tuesday winner Enniskillen turns out again in the KFM Hunters Chase, while Riven Light heads a four-pronged challenge by Willie Mullins in the Donohoe Marquees Novice Hurdle.
