Dermot McLoughlin is considering a crack at the Grade One Champion Bumper at next month's Punchestown Festival with his star mare Avellino.
The five-year-old daughter of Muhtathir won bumpers at Down Royal and Fairyhouse before connections sent her over to Sandown for a Listed event earlier this month.
However, things did not quite go according to plan, as McLoughlin explained.
The trainer said: "The Sandown race didn't really work out for her. She was in front about three times in the straight and still didn't win. She really needs to come with one run and have something to aim at.
"She's come out of the race well and is in good form. I've had a chat with the owner and we're thinking of going for the Champion Bumper at Punchestown."
