Miller on course for Champion Novice

General Miller looks set to go for the Evening Herald Champion Novice Hurdle at Punchestown in the wake of his success at Aintree. Nicky Henderson's charge lowered the colours of Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner Menorah last week to put himself in the frame for Tuesday's Grade One event. "It's likely that General Miller will head to Punchestown," said owner Henry Ponsonby. "He came out of Aintree in good form and he will travel over providing he tells us he is OK. "He was absolutely fine on Monday when the physiotherapist saw him - she said that she couldn't believe that the horse had run such a hard race three days earlier. "I fancied him very much before Aintree and he showed that he knows how to battle. "If it comes up quick at Punchestown, then it might rule out Dunguib, whereas we would like it to ride fast. Whatever beats our horse will win the race."
