Gavin Cromwell is hoping to end his best campaign to date on a high at Punchestown next week.
The Danestown handler goes into the final week of the national hunt season with 85 winners on the board and will saddle several strong contenders at the festival meeting.
Only By Night is one of his main Grade 1 hopes after a narrow defeat in the Arkle Chase at Cheltenham last month.
“Only By Night is in good form and will go for the Grade 1 two-mile novice chase. We’ll have to take on Majborough again, but we’ll give it a go,” said Cromwell.
“We are happy with her and looking forward to it.
“Sixandahalf will go for the mares Listed novice hurdle.
“I was delighted I didn’t run her at Fairyhouse as two and a half miles on bad ground was going to turn into a slog.
“She’s a filly that could have a Flat campaign over the summer and pulling the guts out of her over two and a half wouldn’t have been the right thing.
“Hello Neighbour will run in the Grade 1.
“Stumptown and Vanillier will both run over the banks. We’ll enter them in both races and potentially they could both go for the La Touche. They are both fine after running in the National.
“We also have Final Orders and Peaches And Cream for the cross-country races so we’ll see closer to the time.”
Enda Bolger is no stranger to cross country success at the meeting and Stealthy Tom is set to be his main hope in the La Touche:-
“Stealthy Tom (second the race in 2023) doesn’t have a penalty in the La Touche for the first time in a long time.
“He’s going well and is good at that game, but it looks a hot enough race with the likes of Stumptown and Vanillier.”
