Having been slow to come to hand this season, 2025 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Inothewayyourthinkin has been pleasing trainer Gavin Cromwell since finishing third at the festival last month.

Despite being slightly detached in rear early on, the J.P. McManus-owned gelding warmed to his task as the race unfolded, staying on nicely under jockey Mark Walsh to reach the frame.

Cromwell said: "He is good. I'm happy with him and, please God, we get a clear run with him. He is training well and, fingers crossed, everything goes smooth from here.

"I don't know yet about tactics and will sort that out when the time comes, but I suppose given the fact he was jumping out to the right at Cheltenham, going back right-handed should help us.

"In the end he ran a huge race and, in one way, you'd be delighted with the Gold Cup run, but also very frustrated. He just didn't travel or jump but still put in that performance."
