On this week’s Irish Angle show, Paddy Flood and Emma Nagle give their best bets from the first two days of the Punchestown Festival.

The action gets underway on Tuesday at 2.30 with the William Hill Champion Chase the highlight at 6.05 and the Ladbrokes Gold Cup on Wednesday.

Paddy Flood

I’ll go with Fruit De Mer who ran a cracking race in Cheltenham but I felt like he came up the wrong side on the worse of the ground.

I feel if he'd have got on the rail on the better ground he would have got very, very close.

He runs in the 4.15 on Wednesday, in the Novice Hurdle - two miles seven furlongs will be no worries and I’ve seen him canter around this morning and he seems in great form.

Emma Nagle

Marine Nationale is my best bet for the first two days, comes there fresh, he’s got the cheekpieces and it’s hard not to get behind Barry Connell’s confidence.

He’ll be my bet in the Champion Chase on Tuesday.
