Solitary Man
As Del Boy (in Only Fools And Horses) said 'well, we've had worse days!'. There's another one of these hunter chases for him in Listowel in three weeks and that'll be the plan, although this ground is a big factor for him. He likes going left-handed, that's his fifth win around here and he is a lovely fun horse. Unfortunately, Josh is turning professional in July, only just after I making him! He is great over a fence, has a lot of show-jumping done and he gels with this horse. Bolger was completing a double after Samba Train's win in the first, and also landed the Tote Killarney National with Pride Of Place on the first day of the May meeting on Saturday. We've had a great few days so, like Del Boy and Rodney, I'll have to go out to the car and start rocking it!

Samba Train
It was her first time at that trip, she stayed well and, like her owner (Sir Francis Brooke), she is a pleasure. . We had previously been found out in a Listed race at Thurles but that was on soft ground, and she is a well-bred mare who has two bumpers and a maiden hurdle won now. She was slick over her hurdles, saw it out well and she'll keep going for the summer.

Pride Of Place
Charlie knows him well, won on him last year in Tipperary and the horse had a nice blow out in the charity race at Punchestown last week, where he was ridden by Kate O'Leary, who works with us. He jumped well and loves that trip. He'll probably get eight or 10 pounds for winning today but Charlie takes 5lb off, which helps. . Charlie is with me every Monday and it was a clever ride today, as he did everything that was asked of him.

Busselton
I thought the winning post would never come but what a great ride and a lovely little horse. It was a typical La Touche, it had a bit of everything. As I’ve said beforehand Joseph and his team had everything done with this horse. We didn’t have to do any schooling only do some little different things and take him to different places. If you gave me money to go out and buy a La Touche winner Busselton wouldn’t be the horse. He’s only about 15-3. Darragh sits into him so well and they are a great combination. He’s a great little horse, very sound, and everyone at home loves him. The good ground helps those horses (Flat-bred) get the trip. You won’t be seeing him in the height of winter. We may go to Killarney now for the long-distance chase there and try and do it all again next year. I think there is still more in him, he’s still only nine.
