Foley's good run continues
Shane 'Dusty' Foley continued his recent good run when he landed the Mount Hillary Handicap aboard the Michael Halford trained Atlas Peak in the colours of the Rathcoffey Racing Syndicate. Sat 22nd Aug
he seems to be better here than anywhere else. He's only rated 80 over hurdles if we ever get firm ground! He'll probably get two miles over hurdles better now as he is older. He has been running very well and there's a race back here in a fortnight's time. I was worried when he jumped in front as the plan was to hold him up in fourth or fifth and come with a run. He settled in front though and Conor said he was very happy on him turning in and thought he'd win.
John G Carr
He needs to be covered up and come with a run. We will keep him going here until the end of the season. The syndicate (the Coleman Country Syndicate) are a bunch of lads from Navan, Dublin and Sligo.
John G Carr
He loves it around here. Seven furlongs is his trip but he should get a mile. He has to have fast ground or the all-weather. He might go for a hurdle next and he'll keep going over the summer.
John G Carr
It's good to get off the cold list! I had a winner point-to-pointing the other day but that's my first on the track since Benash won at Fairyhouse on Easter Tuesday,. This lad ran well mid summer but lost his form and dropped a few pounds. Conor's 7lb was a big help. I'll try and run him once more before the season is over and then he'll go back jumping. He was entered in a maiden hurdle at Musselburgh on Monday but that was called off. He wasn't meant to come here at all.
John G Carr
He deserved that, he's being running consistently all year without a win. Shane gave him good ride, they went very fast early on and it took nerve to sit where he did as he was 2nd last coming into the straight. We will keep him going now and probably stick to handicaps over a mile for him.
