FormscanBy Tom Weekes - THETURNOFTHESUN, by Galileo, bridged a five year gap between wins at Downpatrick this month and might be able to add another win on his return to hurdling here. He has shown solid ability on occasions and while he failed to win in 13 previous hurdle outings, nine of those runs have been on soft ground with a return to good ground proving a big help to his recent chase win. He competes from a favourable hurdles mark here and his rider also takes off 7lbs. Dawn Raider also has obvious claims here under Ruby Walsh despite his big weight. He seems a consistent performer, his form is quite useful, is ground-versatile and comes here fit and well having run well over course and distance recently. Russian Roulette is also ground-versatile and also comes here fit and well following last month’s handicap hurdle runner-up effort. He too has solid claims along with Clounts Meadows who is 6lbs higher than when winning over this trip at Tipperary latest, and is again ridden by a 7lb claimer. Newsworthy was in contention when falling over fences latest and has claims on best hurdles form.
