FormscanBy Donal Murphy - MINELLA FAIR might be able spring a bit of a surprise here. The Noel Meade trained eight-year-old has put in some disappointing efforts in his time, but there was a lot to like about his success at Limerick last month. He easily dismissed Cracking Smart on that occasion and appeared to relish the heavy ground and staying trip. He goes back in distance now but has won over shorter before and it'll be interesting to see how he fares now against more experienced rivals. Real Steel was a very easy winner of what looked a competitive handicap at the Punchestown Festival in April. The six-year-old bay is likely to go off a worthy favourite for this Grade 2 contest and it'll come as little surprise if he manages to prevail. Mengli Khan has been kept busy by connections, running at the Festivals in Cheltenham, Aintree, Fairyhouse, Royal Ascot and Galway. He's had a bit of a break since finishing ninth in the Galway Plate and is capable of making his presence felt here. Paul Nicholls has won this race on numerous occasions in the past and he sends across Secret Investor. A winner of a Grade 2 at Ayr on his most recent start in April, the son of Kayf Tara is likely to go close.
