The choice in race one, Only The Brave, is equipped with first-time cheek-pieces, and in this case Ger Lyons has reached for the blinkers with Ancestral. Colin Keane is sidelined with a whip ban incurred at Listowel so Lyons turns to Gary Carroll for the spin on the selection, whilst Keane's father Gerry has Sean Davis for Laughifuwant (not without a chance either). A beaten market-leader on two of her three starts, Ancestral might find this seven furlong trip, back on better ground, to be her optimum conditions. She's got a wide draw in sixteen to overcome alright, but hopefully the blinds will have the daughter of Bated Breath sharp out of the gate.
