FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - I'm loathe to be against Alpha Des Obeaux, but it'll probably be over further in the new year that we'll see the best of the former high class staying hurdler. Bryan Cooper has gone for A Toi Phil, and he's very much respected. He was strong at the end, the only bit we really got to see, in the fog in the Grade 2 Florida Pearl Novice Chase over the course on November 20th. Dropping in trip will hardly be any issue. Gordon Elliott has a lovely back-up in the shape of Diamond King, whilst his other runner, Lieutenant Colonel, needs to bounce back after his latest outing (pulled up). Gigginstown has another one in Road To Respect, and J P McManus also has more than one in the mix, with Coney Island and the selection. I'll go for one of his in ANIBALE FLY. Tony Martin might have thought he was "very workmanlike" at Navan, but I viewed the Assessor gelding more positively. He's a course winning hurdler and he should enjoy the two and a half mile trip.
