He was either going to win or finish a good second second when falling at the final fence at Thurles latest and has been given a chance by the handicapper today with just a 2lbs rise in the weights. Today's two miles is probably a bit sharp for him and while clearly he won't get any faster being a ten year old, he is largely untried over this distance and looks a few pounds ahead of the handicapper relative to his old hurdles form. Tongie would also probably prefer a slightly longer trip but did run well over 2m1f latest and should be able to run well from his low weight today. Knockraha Pylon won at this trip over hurdles at Thurles latest and while she now competes in her first handicap chase today, is again helped by her useful rider's 3lbs claim and is another with claims. Scoir Mear is a capable type on his day and while build for chasing, this is his handicap debut and he competes over a trip well short of his best. Soul Kaliber has yet to do anything exciting but might be able to win a handicap chase at some stage from his reasonably low rating while Leap Dearg has fallen down the ratings but has shown little on his most recent outings.
