FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - SIMIYNA was probably too green to do herself full justice at Leopardstown the first day and with progress likely on that she may be able to upstage another recent notebook entrant in Comeragh Haze. Outsider of two runners for connections then, Simiyna led, and Leigh Roche asked her to concentrate on the job in hand when she veered to the left and got headed from the three pole. To her credit the daughter of Holy Roman Emperor got herself back into strong contention at the business end. Ultimately she was beaten three parts of a length and a neck into third behind Raintree (from the red hot Patrick Prendergast yard) and Shareva (her own stable companion who had the benefit of two runs). Extra distance and the know-how of a racecourse outing, makes Simiyna the choice, ahead of the aforementioned Comeragh Haze, and the newcomers Curly and Imrana (Aga Khan and Weld also). Watch the market with regard to some of the rest of them.
