FormscanBy Donal Murphy - CALL THE TAXIE might be able to take this on his seasonal debut. The son of Scorpion is a consistent sort, and has yet to finish outside the first four in his nine career starts to date. He won a three runner point-to-point for John Hanlon at Durrow in February of last year, and subsequently changed hands for 25,000 pounds. The six-year-old gelding was second to Penhill in a Grade 2 at Limerick last Christmas, and finally made the breakthrough over flights at Thurles in February. He seems versatile in terms of ground, and it'll be disappointing if he isn't involved towards the business end here. Bel Ami De Sivola won three times last season, but was disappointingly beaten by Ballela Boy on his most recent start at Down Royal. The son of Network makes his debut over fences now, and his trainer Noel Meade said after one of his victories last year: "I think he is a very good horse, and a chaser in the making." A Sizing Network, and the aforementioned Ballela Boy are the other obvious contenders in this two and a half mile contest.
