FormscanBy Donal Murphy - Enda Bolger has won this race six times in the last eight years, and he relies on Blue Templar now. This son of Milan has yet to win in eighteen starts, and could only manage third when sent off favourite on his last start in a point-to-point at Quakerstown. He is tried in a visor for the first time now, and while he can be expected to go close, it's hard to be overly confident that he'll finally get his head in front. Enniskillen on the other hand won this race twelve months ago, and was again successful over the course last month when winning a point-to-point. He ran a nice race to finish third on his most recent start at Down Royal, and that effort will have left him spot on for this assignment. While the aforementioned duo are likely to prove popular with punters, VITAL ISLAND is the one I'll side with. He failed to win in eight starts before this year, but seems to have turned a corner now, winning at Borris in early March before following-up two days later at Lingstown. That Lingstown success came over the banks course, where he beat My Murphy by seven lengths. His handler Richard O'Keeffe later stated: "He is a good little horse and he did that well again today. He would prefer a bit of better ground and will now be aimed at the Ladies Cup."
