He ran out a convincing winner of the big mile handicap at Ballybrit, despite having to engineer a gap in the straight, and was unlucky not to land another nice pot at the festival when dropped back to seven furlongs later in the week. He looks on the upgrade on the level and this looks a nice opportunity to get another success under his belt. Herald The Dawn holds the highest official rating but only by a pound after he was dropped a few pounds last season. He had some very smart juvenile form, including when chasing home Air Force One in the National Stakes, but was well held in two runs as a three-year-old and finished last on his only outing this term. He has a bit to prove now. Captain Joy ran a decent race on his return at Naas last time but he looks best on the all-weather and this ground would be a worry.
