Formscan By Gary Carson - DAYS AHEAD goes for a hat-trick and may be worth following. 5lb for his latest victory doesn't look too harsh considering 7lb seems to be the standard for notching up a win. He's 6lb worse off with Noverre Princess but may get her measure again as he is getting the job done while she tends to find one or two too good. She was also third behind Blue Ridge Land here last week. John McConnell's veteran has been performing well recently after sliding down the handicap but a 9lb rise for his victory gives him more to do now. Fairylike didn't run too badly here last time and is slipping to an attractive mark. She could finish closer now while Atmospheric High was a game winner in a conditions race here last time and off the same mark back in a handicap should be competitive.

An extended handicap for four yrs old and upwards (75 = 10st)
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won. Any horse rated above 75 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 10st. Subsequently, the excess over 75 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any four year old rated above 75 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
