Plenty have been aware of Lisa O'Neill's prowess in the plate for some time, but she showcased her talents to a wider audience by riding her second winner in six days when Rebel Cry took the Tipperary (Ladies) Handicap Hurdle at Thurles.

O'Neill rode Knight's Parade a winner for Gordon Elliott (a yard where she does plenty of work) at Dundalk last Friday night, but here she was doing the steering on Rebel Cry for County Galway-based handler Norman Lee.

O'Neill can be pleased with her efforts on the Gamut gelding, with just one point-to-point win to his name from twenty one previous efforts, as she got him home by half a length, and the same, from Adreamstillalive and Dr Zoom in what was a blanket finish.

"We have waited a while for this and I'm delighted for his owner, Michael Hogan, from Castletroy in Limerick, as he has been a brilliant owner," said Lee.

"I thought a lot of him but a lot of the good amateur riders turned him down but I'm delighted as Lisa gave him a brilliant ride.

"He's a fun horse and would prefer a bit of better ground so he'll be kept on the go."

Miss J.M. Mangan, rider of Edmundo trained by R.P.Rath, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount finished lame.
