40/1 shot We'llhavewan stuck his head out gamely to land the spoils in a thrilling four-way finish to the Killinna Handicap Hurdle at Thurles.

Jody Townend took the mount on the Imperial Monarch gelding for her father Tim and produced him to dispute turning for home in the two-miler.

The eventual winner landed over the last locked together with Tohellortoconnacht with Londonofficecallin and Molly Kaye also coming to challenge in the closing stages.

We'llhavewan just found a bit more late on to record a half length win. Molly Kaye edged the runner-up spot by a head from Tohellortoconnacht.

The winner had pulled up mid-race at Clonmel last time and was leaving previous form well behind.

"He is homebred and while he works well at home, that was a surprise as he pulled with Jody the last day. We changed a couple of things at home and put cheek-pieces on him.

"He battled well and that'll keep Jody going."
