Mark Fahey joined his uncles, Seamus, Paul, Jarlath and Peter in the training ranks on Sunday (Hold The Fire finished fourth at Kilbeggan) and he saddles his second runner today – Point The Toes in the 6.10 at Downpatrick, the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Mares Handicap Hurdle.

Mark's grandmother, Maureen (her colours have been carried to victory on horses trained by all four trainer sons) owns Point The Toes. The talented amateur rider won't be taking the mount himself though as he jocks Shane Butler up on the course and distance winner in this extended two and a quarter miler.

The Monasterevin Fahey's are a serious racing family and many will recall, cousins, Mark, James and Ciara riding in the same bumper at Thurles in 2010. (EM)
