Charles Byrnes’ Alfa Beat under Davy Russell, completed a remarkable four-timer when winning the Guinness Handicap Chase at Galway today.
The son of Environment Friend easily recorded a four and a half lengths win to follow up wins at Roscommon, Wexford and Limerick in recent months.
Byrnes was not present but reported by phone “that was a nice pot to win with Alfa Beat and apart from one mistake, jumped very well all the way. That earned him a place in the Kerry National at Listowel soon.”
