Alpha Ridge destoys Cork Grade 3 field

Paul Nolan's Alpha Ridge put in an awesome performance to make all for a hugely impressive 25 lengths win the Grade 3 Dial-A-Bet 1800 721 821 European Breeders Fund Novice Hurdle at Cork today.

Ridden by Alain Cawley, the son of Glacial Storm made all and effortlessly moved clear before the straight, staying on strongly while his rivals were making no impression.

Afterwards Nolan reported "I am delighted with that and the race worked out very well for him. He needed a good pace and that was a very good performance. We won't rush with him now but he'll go for those long distance novice hurdles."

He added "he has the stamp of a real chaser and and I can see no reason why he why he won't handle better ground."

Both Nolan and Cawley combined to complete a double when Sinatra Bar landed the paddypowertrader.com INH Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle.

Afterwards Nolan mentioned "I always thought a lot of him and he ran well at Punchestown recently. He should probably be better on better ground, being by Norwich."
