Ana O'Brien got Fairylike up on the line to land the spoils in the apprentice handicap at Dundalk.

Bualadh Croi took them along in the mile contest but was tackled over a furlong out by the O'Brien horse.

The front-runner stuck on gamely, under Ian Brennan, and looked like he might hold on only for Fairylike to find extra in the dying strides.

It was a second winner for Ana O'Brien, who had also scored on the versatile mare when she landed a mile-and-a-half contest here last month.

Aidan O'Brien's other daughter Sarah had rode the mare over two miles here on her last start and the master of Ballydoyle said afterwards.

“Sarah thought she didn't get the two miles the last day. It's good experience for Ana riding here and it's a great facility they have here.

“We're looking forward to the Flat season and hopefully they're ready to go.”
