Australia comes good at Thurles

Sizing Australia made it third time lucky in the Liams Legends Beginners Chase at Thurles.

Henry de Bromhead's charge had finished second in the event last year and also as a five-year-old in 2007.

He made no mistake this time, leading at the sixth last and battling gamely to see off the strong challenge of Your Busy

Ruby Walsh 's mount travelled ominously well throughout but couldn't find a way past Sizing Australia and Andrew Lynch extracted a terrific leap at the last to gain an advantage on the eventual winner.

That proved the difference, between the 7/4 joint-favourites, as he kept up the gallop to record a three-parts-of-a-length victory.

"He definately didn't lack in experience. I'm delighted," said de Bromhead afterwards.

"Alan and Ann (Potts) had great fun last year with him in the cross country races and he loves running in them.

"This was a nice prep race and he'll go for the cross-country race at Cheltenham in November now.

"Hopefully we can try and win one with him this year but it's not easy with Enda Bolger around.

"He's one of the first horses Alan and Ann had with me and has been a great horse over the years."
