Baby Whizz responded really well to pressure to come through and land the extended two and a half mile handicap chase in Killarney.

After the fourth last he was driven in rear of mid-division by replacement jockey Niall Madden. He hugged the rail though on the long run to the third last and actually came through to get on terms with Moss Grove and Illtakeitfromhere

He jumped that fence in front from Illtakeitfromhere and forged on strongly from the second last. The nine-year-old gelding was clear approaching the last and although untidy there came in unchallenged by eight and a half lengths at 12/1.

Five O'Clock Tea, the 11/8 favourite, was beaten into second. Corporate Box (4/1) was half a length away in third.

"He likes it here obviously. Slippers (Niall Madden) gave him a reminder down the back and then he wouldn't stop and once he hit the front kept going ok," trainer Tom Mullins said.

"He had a long layoff after a few bad runs but was been in good form coming here and will come back in July, more than likely for another chase."

Baby Whizz was a previous course and distance winner. Jockey Niall Madden replaced Mark Walsh on the winner as Walsh was stood down after a fall in race four.
