Billion survives scare to score

Whatsabillion survived a scare to claim the 2m4f handicap chase at Clonmel.

Eddie Power gave the 5/2 favourite a positive ride at the head of affairs but the pair got the sixth last all wrong, landing on top of the fence and climbing over it.

John Murphy 's charge was none the worse for that incident and stayed on strongly down the straight to record an eight-length success over Old Shyan

"He's been second a couple of times here and has been in great form since. He jumps well," said Murphy.

"It probably wasn't the greatest of contests. He seems to go on that type of ground and is a fine big horse."
