Conor Hoban got a great tune out of Andy Oliver’s Brassbound in Division 2 of the mile and a half handicap at Dundalk to record a comprehensive two length victory.

The winner was backed in the morning from 12/1 to 7/1 and went off 8/1.

“He’s a good honest horse and Conor gave him a good ride. I’m delighted with that. It was the sound surface he was after all along,” Andy Oliver said.

“I ran him in Fairyhouse when it was bottomless. I should have taken him out that day [eighth on September 24].

“He’ll have another run or two here and he’s in the sales at Newmarket.”

Hoban delivered his charge a furlong and a half from home and they readily accounted for Lady Bennett (12/1). Pires rounded out the placings in third at 6/1. Johnnys Legacy was withdrawn at 12/1. There was a 5 cent in the euro Rule 4 to board prices prior to the withdrawal.
