After about twenty previous rides on the racecourse proper, before today, Conor Brassil had a second placing on Sinbinned at Navan back in March to his name. Well he made the all-important break-through on his father, Martin's Celestial Prospect in the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle at Wexford.

This Galileo gelding, having his initial try in a handicap and also equipped with a tongue-strap for the first time, beat Bulletproof here by four and a half lengths.

Brassil senior said: "I was lucky to get him off Dermot Kelly who gave up training.

"It''s great for Conor (18yo) to have his first winner. He is based with Dessie Hughes.

"His older brother, David, won on his first ride in France there recently, in a mile and a half race on the level for Francois Cottin.

"We might bring this horse to Dundalk now if he can't get that type of ground again. He was placed on the flat at Fairyhouse before." (DM & EM)
